As summer looms, students at dozens of schools across the country are trying hard to be in the present moment in what is known as mindfulness training. I do not think that it is a stretch to suggest that if we want to preserve our civilization, then it might be necessary to contend with the problems we are facing with a more effective form of knowledge than Biblical Fundamentalism.
